Abigail Hing Wen (CLS 2004) will talk about her journey from Columbia Law School, to clerking on the DC Circuit, to working as a lawyer in Silicon Valley venture capital and artificial intelligence—to publishing her first novel, Loveboat, Taipei, just out from HarperCollins. She will share about the joys and challenges on the road to creating diverse stories and what lies ahead for her with her book, the law and her career in tech.
Loveboat, Taipei is a Crazy Rich Asians meets a Jane Austen Comedy of Manners. Inspired by the actual summer cultural program in Taiwan, it follows the story of four young adults whose lives collide there. Loveboat, Taipei has been profiled in Entertainment Weekly, Bloomberg, and selected as a top pick of 2020 by the Boston Globe, 17 Magazine and Bustle, among others.
